AVI capacity is not always available on demand
Unlike general freight, live animal cargo space is limited and not available on all flights. Airlines manage AVI capacity separately with specific allocation per flight and restrictions on how far in advance bookings can be confirmed.
Capacity challenges in live animal transport
- Many airlines limit AVI to specific flights or departure days
- Peak periods create capacity constraints across multiple carriers simultaneously
- Some routes have very limited airline options for live animals
- Breed-specific restrictions reduce the pool of available carriers
- Embargoes can eliminate a carrier without warning
Our approach
We maintain working relationships across multiple carriers on all major routes. When one carrier is full or embargoed, we move quickly to identify alternatives.
